Renovation Sale - email offer

2004 Valdamor Albarino Selection, Rias Baixas
Full Price $39.95 / Offer Price $24.00
100% Albarino
Valdamor specialise solely in first class Albarino. They work hard to obtain the best quality fruit possible, working with the growers to enhance their viticultural techniques and paying them well for the resulting good fruit. Since 2003 they have been searching for older parcels of vines to again improve the quality of their wines.

The 'Albarino selection' is made from fruit sourced from these older vineyards, which are cold settled and fermented in stainless steel. The wine is racked and left to mature on the fine lees, which add texture to the already complex fruit, and frame the wine beautifully.

2005 Domaine Chevilly, Quincy
Full Price $37.00 / Offer Price $29.60
100% Sauvignon Blanc
Quincy has become very popular in recent years, filling the gap left by the price-creep of Sancerre over the past 5 years. It is small appellation very close to Sancerre, and the vineyards are found on a sandy plateau near the river .... The wines have a kernal of soft, fleshy fruit, and finish bright and herbacious.

2005 Elian da Ros 'le vignoble d'élian', Côtes du Marmandais
Full Price $36.50 / Offer Price $21.90
50% Cabernet Franc, 30% Merlot, 20% Shiraz.
The hugely talented Elian da Ros trained under Olivier Humbrecht and worked for the Domaine Zind- Humbrecht for 4 years. Like his mentor he adopts a low-yielding non-interventionist approach to winemaking. Hand harvested and matured for 14 months in oak, this wine is luscious and rich backed with excellent acidity and robust but approachable tannins. Aromas of plum, cassis and tobacco.

Special Offer

'Domaine Jamet, Northern Rhone, France
(Strictly first in first served)

Brothers Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul Jamet have been running this domaine since the retirement of their father Joseph in 1986. The estate has expanded to cover 8.5 hectares of the "roasted slope", spread over more than 20 separate plots. The range of terroirs offers a rich and varied palate from which to blend complex and special wine, year in, year out. Even in a poor year, Jamet's Côte Rôtie is never 'green'. It is a hedonistic wine, a veritable explosion of intense, peppery black fruit, and quite simply delicious.

2004 Jamet Cote Rotie / Shelf Price $165.00 / Offer Price $140
(very limited availability)
“Dark red. Wonderfully perfumed and expressive aromas of bright raspberry and wild strawberry, complicated by smoky minerality and Asian spices. Focused, pure and brisk, with an array of red and dark berry flavors, hints of pepper and spices and clean, bracing acidity. Finishes distinctly elegant and very long, with a late note of violet pastille adding even more interest. This is extremely well-balanced.” 93 points By Josh Raynolds
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jan/Feb 07.

Rimauresq, Côtes de Provence, France

Rimauresq takes its name from the ‘’Real Mauresque’’ which is the river which flows through the vineyards. The Domaine itself is located at the foot of Notre Dame Des Anges and the Massif des Maures mountain range. At the heart of the Provence wine region, twenty minutes from Toulon, Rimauresq consists of 57 hectares of vines.

Its exceptional‘terroir’, recognised through its Cru Classé status, results in wines of elegance, complexity, purity and long term cellaring potential. The terroir is of crystalline rock with sand and gravelly soil. It frequently benefits from the combination of the individual terroirs in the same area of the vineyard. It is this diversity that allows Rimauresq to excel in all three colours red, white and rosé.

On these harsh soils, aided by a North-West orientation, the vines produce small quantities of very highly concentrated grapes. The micro climate at Rimauresq is unique within the Appellation. The vineyards are located at an altitude of between 140 to 190 metres and are lucky enough to get the benefit not only of the cooling Mistral winds but also the shade of the mountains above. It is this shade which gives a longer ripening period in the crucial weeks prior to harvest.

Nine noble grape varieties are found at Rimauresq ; Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan for the reds, Rolle (Vermentino) and Ugni Blanc for the whites and Cinsault, Mourvedre and Tibouren for the rosés. At Rimauresq we keep only the best fruit from the vineyards. This dedicated approach, combined with a modern gravity fed winery, allows Pierre Duffort and his team to focus on producing the very best Provence has to offer.
