| Dear Wine Aficionado, This week our feature offer is a selection of Bordeaux from Andre Lurton from the affordable Chateau Bonnet to the classified Pessac-Leognan estates Chateau la Louviere and Chateau Couhins Lurton. The wine of the week is the recently arrived 2007 Dourosa Tinto. This red from the Douro region of Portugal was one of the hits of last weeks in store tasting and offers good value for money. Tasting - French Whites This evening Tuesday 2 March, 6 to 8 pm, In-Store, Free Tonights tasting features an eclectic selection of French white wines covering a wide number of grape varieties and geographic regions: Chardonnay from Chablis; Grenache blanc from the Languedoc; Marsanne with Rousanne and others from the Luberon; Muscat & Riesling from Alsace; Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley; and Savagnin from Arbois. Shelf Price $27.00 Offer Price $23.00 download order form Bordeaux - Selection of 6 - Andre Lurton Andre Luton is a legend in Bordeaux and was the driving force in the establishment of the Pessac Leognan AOC which exemplifies the best terroir of the larger Graves AOC from which it was excised. However his largest estate is Chateau Bonnet in the more modest Entre Deux Mers. Even at this more affordable end of the market, quality is the driving force for this estate. This selection includes three wines from Chateau Bonnet and three from the Andre Lurton estates in Pessac Leognan, Chateau La Louviere and Chateau Couhins Lurton. These six wines offer a great introduction to modern Bordeaux winemaking from a traditionalist and a perfectionist, Andre Lurton Shelf Price $424.00 Offer Price $360.00 2007 Chateau Bonnet Entre Deux Mers Blanc 40% Sémillon, 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Muscadelle. Fermented in temperature- controlled stainless- steel tanks. Matured for for 4 months in tanks on lees. Drinking well now until 2011. "Pale gold in color. Intense, fruity with notes of flower on the nose. Round and pleasant foretaste, fresh and long finish."- 86 Points, James Suckling, Wine Spectator Shelf Price $30.00 2004 La Louviere Pessac-Leognan Blanc Sauvignon Blanc 85% Sémillon 15%. Matured for 12 months in oak barrels (50% new) on full lees with bâtonnage. Very expressive between 3 and 5 years old, can age 10 to 20 years. "Beautiful aromas of green apple, fennel and mineral follow through to a full body, with bright acidity and a clean, lively and refreshing finish." - 90 Points - James Suckling, Wine Spectator "Fat, Semillon, figgy and rather gorgeous. Matured for 12 months in oak barrels on full lees with bâtonnage. Fully expressive between 3 and 10 years, can age 20 to 30 years. "Mineral, sliced lemon and green apple aromas follow through to a full body, with lively acidity and a medium finish." 87 Points James Suckling, Wine Spectator "Very pale. Rich nose and lots of energy on the palate though reasonably evolved. Fermented in stainless steel, temperature-controlled tanks. Matured for 4 months in tanks. Drinking well now. "Orange-pink. Orange peel, poached pear and cherry aromas are complicated by dusty minerals and a light floral quality. Light-bodied but tactile red berry and citrus flavors become softer and a bit jammy with air. Round and silky but nervy, with good finishing lift and gentle cut." - 87 Points - Josh Raynolds, Stepen Tanzers IWC Shelf Price $25.00 2005 Chateau Bonnet Bordeaux Rouge Cuvee Divinus Merlot 80%,Cabernet Sauvignon 20%. Fermented in temperature controlled tanks with pumping-over and breaking up of the cap of solid grape particles. Matured for 18 months in new french oak barrels. Expressive between 3 and 5 years, can age up to 10 years. "Fresh and attractive, with berry and currant character. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a light vanilla and berry aftertaste. Best after 2012." - 90 Points - Suckling, Wine Spectator "The luxury cuvee, the 2005 Divinus, is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. It offers a dark ruby/purple color along with an attractive black currant, licorice, smoke, and underbrush-scented bouquet. Medium-bodied and fruity with excellent depth and length, it should age nicely for 7-8 years." - 89 Points - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate Shelf Price $92.00 2004 Couhins Lurton Pessac-Leognan Rouge Merlot 77%, Cabernet Sauvignon 23%. Expressive after 3 to 5 years, can age 10 to 15 years "Medium-bodied, with berry and tobacco character, fine tannins and a delicate finish. A pleasing red for early drinking.
